This is evident from the dramatic increase in the turnover of both domestic players and international players. During the fiscal year of March 2006 to March 2007, the Indian automobile industry showed an upbeat performance with each segment showed a record growth. According to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM India), the domestic sales of Cars have grown steadily over the year 2001-2007. During the year 2001 the annual sales of cars for domestic market was about 6, 75,000 Units, and it has increased dramatically to 13, 75,000 units by the year 2007.
